In his opening remarks, Assistant III of the Indragiri Hilir Regency Government, Mr. Fajar Husin, expressed his hope that this FGD could become a momentum to strengthen sectoral statistical data as the basis for regional development planning in Indragiri Hilir Regency. In addition, he also expressed the importance of sectoral statistical data that reflects the real conditions of Indragiri Hilir Regency. Thus, the formulation of policies carried out can be right on target.

After the event was officially opened, the FGD activities began with a presentation by the Head of BPS Indragiri Hilir Regency, Mr. Sudiro, SST, M.Si. In his presentation, the Head of BPS steadily said that currently government policy making must be based on data or facts. Where BPS policy data sources can only provide about 10 percent, the remaining almost 80 percent is fulfilled by sectoral statistical data. In the next session, Bappeda, represented by Mr. Arman, SKM, MKM, conveyed several breakthroughs that can be made to achieve SDI implementation. He explained that the breakthrough that is being made by Bappeda is by developing the Inhil Satu Peta (INSap) application and utilizing the SEPAKAT Bappenas application to alleviate poverty in Indragiri Hilir. The hope is that through this application there will be synchronization of regional development planning documents with Inhil Satu Data Merdeka (ISTAKA) developed by Diskominfo.

The discussion got warmer after the Diskominfo delivered its presentation on the implementation of sectoral statistics in Indragiri Hilir. In his presentation, it was conveyed that in the future the data owned by agencies in Indragiri Hilir Regency that are inputted into ISTAKA will go through an approval stage to check the quality of the data. Improving data quality is the next program by collaborating with BPS who is trusted as a data coach.

The high enthusiasm of the participants at the end of the time provided additional insight. Various questions related to strengthening sectoral statistics were raised to find various solutions. At the end of the time, the event was closed with the inauguration of the Community of Statistical Fighters of Inhil Satu Data Merdeka (KOMPAS ISTAKA) by the Head of BPS Indragiri Hilir Regency and the signing of the minutes of the service standard agreement to the appointed representatives.
