Gold Jewelry Becomes a Commodity Contributing to High Contribution of Tembilahan Inflation in April 2025

On May 2, 2025, BPS Indragiri Hilir Regency again held a Press Release of BRS Tembilahan Inflation in April 2025 at the Bappeda Office Hall of Indragiri Hilir Regency. This event was opened by Assistant II for Economic Development of the Regional Secretariat, followed by the presentation of the Official Statistics News (BRS) Tembilahan Inflation in April 2025. The event was then continued with a Coordination Meeting of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) which was attended by representatives of OPDs that are members of the TPID of Indragiri Hilir Regency. Sudiro, SST, M.Si as the Head of BPS Indragiri Hilir Regency said that Tembilahan inflation in April 2025 month to month (m-to-m) was recorded at 0.96% with a Consumer Price Index of 109.37. Year to date (y-to-d) inflation was recorded at -3.26% and year on year (y-on-y) inflation of 3.4%. The commodities that predominantly contributed to y-on-y inflation included gold jewelry at 1.51%, cooking oil at 0.23%, and kangkong at 0.22%. Gold jewelry commodities in the personal care and other services expenditure subgroup also contributed a high share to the formation of m-to-m inflation in April 2025, which was 0.47%. In addition, the celebration of the religious holiday of Eid al-Fitr also resulted in m-to-m inflation in the transportation expenditure subgroup with commodities contributing to inflation including travel vehicle fares, river, lake and ferry transportation, and sea transportation. The Assistant for the Economic Development Section of the Indragiri Hilir Regency Secretariat, Junaidy Ismail, also emphasized the importance of joint efforts by TPID to maintain a balance between supply and community needs considering that Tembilahan Inflation is approaching the upper limit of the nationally targeted inflation target of 2.5% plus minus 1.
