Press Release – Official Statistical News (BRS) on Tembilahan’s March 2025 Inflation

April 8, 2025 | Other Activities

On April 8, 2025, BPS (Statistics Indonesia) of Indragiri Hilir Regency released the March 2025 inflation figures for Tembilahan in a BRS (Official Statistical News) press release event held at the Bappeda Hall of Indragiri Hilir Regency. The event was attended by the Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development of the Regional Secretariat, Junaidy Ismail, along with representatives from regional government agencies who are part of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID).

Head of BPS Indragiri Hilir, Sudiro, reported that Tembilahan experienced an inflation rate of 2.66% (month-to-month), 2.28% (year-to-date), and 2.91% (year-on-year) in March 2025. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) was recorded at 108.33, up from 105.27 in March 2024.

The Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel group contributed the most to the monthly inflation (1.51%), mainly due to the normalization of electricity tariffs following the January–February incentives. The Personal Care and Other Services group also made a significant contribution, particularly through gold jewelry.

Some commodities experienced price declines and contributed to deflation, such as red chili and belanak fish. However, overall inflation remained high, primarily driven by increases in electricity tariffs, water spinach, fresh shrimp, spinach, and broiler chicken meat.

For year-on-year inflation, the Personal Care and Other Services group was the largest contributor (1.39%), followed by Food, Beverages, and Tobacco (1.03%) and Transportation (0.15%). The main contributors to annual inflation included gold jewelry, fresh shrimp, cooking oil, catfish, and motorcycles.

On the other hand, the Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel group experienced a yearly deflation of 0.78%, mainly due to a drop in electricity tariffs and household fuel prices.
